King Mohammed urges army, police to see to citizens' interests
Morocco, Politics, 10/23/1999
King Mohammed VI urged the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Gendarmerie, auxiliary forces, national security as well as local authorities to see to the interests of the citizens.
In a message of thanks following the 10-day tour he has just made in several northern provinces and wilayas, the king called on the concerned authorities to be constantly close to the citizens to ensure their security and serve their interests with dedication and self-denial.
King Mohammed VI paid tribute to the FAR, the Gendarmerie, the auxiliary forces, the agents in charge of civilian rescue operations and the national security for facilitating "our meeting with our subjects," during the tour that had, he said, a great impact on him.
The King toured the Wilayas, provinces and prefectures of Casablanca, Mohammedia, Kenitra, Larache, Tangiers, Tetouan, Cefchaouen, Al-Hoceima, Nador, Berkane, Oujda, Taourirt, Taza, Fez, Meknes and Khemissate.
During the tour, the first since he ascended the throne last July following the demise of his father, late King Hassan II, the king launched several development projects.
