Sudanese foreign minister in Cairo tomorrow for reconciliation talks
Egypt-Sudan, Politics, 10/23/1999

Egyptian foreign minister Amr Moussa said that his Sudanese counterpart Mustafa Osman Ismael is visiting Egypt tomorrow to hold discussions regarding the efforts exerted in order to achieve reconciliation in Sudan in light of results of the meetings of the Sudanese National Assembly leadership's front which was concluded in Cairo the day before yesterday.

Regarding Cairo's meeting and convening the conference of IGAAD's partners in Rome and what was mentioned regarding objections of the head of the Sudanese People's Liberation Army John Garan , Moussa said "the discussion took place during the last days with all parties was on the coordination between the joint Libyan - Egyptian initiative and IGAAD."

Moussa refused the idea of merging the two initiatives clarifying that what is currently required is coordinating between them because they are not contradictory.
