The competing parties in the Tunisian election

Six small parties from the moderate, recognized secular opposition are competing with the democratic constitutional coalition led by President Zein al-Abidin Bin Ali on 34 seats out of 182 seats in the parliament.
The candidates for the presidential elections are: President Zein al-Abidin Bin Ali for the democratic constitutional coalition;
Abdul Rahman al-Taleili for the unionist democratic federation;
Muhammad Balhaj Omar for the people's unity party;
The competing parties for the parliamentary elections are:
148 candidates for the democratic constitutional coalition ( 144 parliament member);
148 candidates for the socialist democratic movement ( 10 parliamentarians);
139 candidates for the people's unity party ( two parliament members);
113 candidates for the renewal movement ( former communists, four parliament members);
113 candidates for the liberation social party ( not represented in the parliament);
50 candidates for the progressive socialist coalition ( not represented in the Parliament). This party includes independent candidates under the banner of " the democratic alliance."
47 independent candidates with the majority from dissent members from the " renewal movements."
