Moroccan Upper House Speaker confers with Mauritanian peer
Morocco-Mauritania, Politics, 10/22/1999

Ways to enhance Moroccan-Mauritanian ties topped talks held in Rabat Thursday between the speaker of the Moroccan Chamber of Advisors (upper house), Mohammed Jalal Essaid, and his visiting Mauritanian peer, Dieng Boubou Farba.

The two sides called for the creation of a bilateral parliamentary friendship group to contribute to the consolidation of cooperation ties between the two Maghreban countries.

Essaid and Farba also stressed the need to boost the Arab Maghreb Union, which musters Algeria, Libya and Tunisia, besides Morocco and Mauritania.
