Rural world will access electricity at easy terms
Morocco, Economics, 10/22/1999

Easy terms will be granted to villagers wishing to be supplied with power, part of the global rural electrification program for the northern provinces.

The decision was announced by the Moroccan power company (O.N.E.) on Thursday.

O.N.E. said King Mohammed VI gave instructions to grant easy payment terms to households wishing to be connected to the mains, when he was briefed on a regional scheme in Taza to supply power to several areas.

The households will pay about $4 (40 DH) per month over a seven-year period, while they were so far called to pay about $250 (2500 dh) in a sole installment, the company said.

King Mohammed VI, who has just wound up on Wednesday a 10-day tour to several northern and eastern provinces, inaugurated in every stop projects meant to promote economic and social development and improve living standards of the populations.
