King Mohammed urges Cabinet to complete development projects within deadlines
Morocco, Politics, 10/22/1999
King Mohammed VI has urged the Cabinet to complete the development projects underway within the set deadlines.
This came in a message of thanks that the sovereign addressed to the inhabitants of the wilayas, prefectures and provinces he toured this October 11 through 20.
"We urge our government to complete within the set deadlines the planned projects," said the king, who wound up on Wednesday the tour that led him to Casablanca, Mohammedia, Kenitra, Larache, Tangier, Tetuan, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Nador, Berkane, Oujda, Taourirt, Taza, Fez, Meknes and Khemisset. Strong backing was demonstrated to all the policies he is pursuing.
King Mohammed VI said his encounter with the inhabitants of these parts of the kingdom constitutes "a renewal of the indestructible allegiance pact and emotional ties binding us." "It equally provided us with the opportunity to enquire on the spot about your problems and concerns," the king said, adding that he had been deeply moved by the affection expressed by the populations and the warm and sincere welcome he was met with everywhere.
The king, who had inaugurated in every stop projects meant to promote economic and social development and improve living standards of the populations, stated further in his message that the projects he launched will surely have a positive impact on these provinces and give a new momentum to the progress and development Morocco aspires to.
King Mohammed VI renewed his determination to promote the regions he visited as well as the other provinces he is planning to tour later on.
This was the sovereign's first tour since he accessed the throne last July following the demise of his father, late King Hassan II.
