457,000 cases were heard by the Saudi courts in 1997

The Saudi courts heard in 1997 more than 457,000 cases from all over Saudi Arabia through 299 courts with 604 judges.

A report by the Ministry of Justice today referred that courts of Mecca regarded more than 90,000 cases through 96 judges and 36 courts, followed by the Aseer area, where more than 48,000 cases were regarded, then the capital Riyadh with 45,000 cases and El-Medina El-Monawara with 39,000 cases.

The report said the six courts of the northern border area with nine judges in it are the least busy regarding the number of cases as they heard nearly 6,000 cases.
