Kuwaiti Journalists call for protection of press from administrative intervention
Kuwait, Politics, 10/22/1999
The Kuwaiti Journalists Association emphasized the importance of not exposing publications which are constitutionally protected to administrative procedures to obstruct their work or stop their publication without a final judicial verdict based on the publication law (article 35).
The association renewed -- in a statement issued yesterday evening after an exceptional meeting in which it discussed the Kuwaiti Cabinet's decision to stop El-Seyasah newspaper from being issued for five days -- its demand for a comprehensive revision for the publication law based on modern and democratic bases and based on the Kuwaiti constitution.
