Saudi Arabia -Yemen border problem nears an end

The chairman of the land survey department, who is also the chairman of the Yemeni side to the Yemeni-Saudi joint committee on border demarcation, Muhammad Abdul Malki al-Alafi, said that the so far achieved border marks reached 294 and only few marks are remaining for completion.
The Yemeni official told the Yemeni "September 26" paper that the recent meetings which were held on October 18 and 19 centered mainly on the results of determining the positions of border marks along the border line starting from Raas al-Dweimah to Red Sea to Jabaal al-Thaar.
He added that results attained by the technical committees are approximately the same, except for a few differences on the sites of marks that had disappeared because it is 65 years old.
He added that the committee agreed to resubmit the points of dispute to the field technical committees for rechecking and then the results will be submitted to the committee in its next meeting in Riyadh on November 29, MENA reported.
