Lebanese president, premier denounce the killing of two Lebanese doctors in Russia
Lebanon-Palestine-Russia, Local, 10/22/1999

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud had denounced the aggression which claimed the life of two Lebanese doctors studying in Russia. Lebanese President Emile Lahoud asked for making necessary measures to facilitate the transfer of the bodies of Abdul Mutalib and Shadi Murtada and the wounded doctor Akef Yassin.

Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss described the incident as a "painful".

In statements he made on Thursday, al-Hoss said the Lebanese Foreign Ministry is making the necessary contacts to clarify this matter. Families of the victims said that the killing was carried out by the Russian Mafia.

The double crime that took place in the Russian city of Rostov Sour Ludon in Russia that resulted in killing two Lebanese doctors and wounding a third was the preoccupation of the Lebanese officials, especially President Lahoud and Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss.

The contacts centered on finding out the mysteries of this crime and taking the bodies of the two killed and the wounded one to Beirut. All the victims are from Tamnin al-Tahta town, near Reyaq.

The wounded person Akef Yassin is hospitalized. Early information implicates a Palestinian in the death and injury of the victims following disputes whose nature has not been clarified yet.
