Moussa meets with UK defense minister

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa held a prolonged meeting with UK Defense Minister Geoffrey Hoon, who is currently visiting Cairo, in the attendance of Assistant Foreign Minister Mahdi Fath Allah the UK ambassador in Cairo, Graham Boyce.

After the meeting, which lasted more than two hours, Moussa said that very important topics were discussed frankly, adding in answering journalists' questions that he discussed the status in the Mediterranean area in general, the relations with NATO, the peace process and its developments and the status concerning Iraq in light of the UN Security Council's handling of this case in addition to some others.

Moussa referred that he resumed his discussions which he held with Hoon recently when Hoon was the minister of state for foreign affairs and he visited Alexandria.

The UK minister said that lots of issues of joint concern were discussed between the two countries.
