$13 billion in Tunisian foreign investments

The volume of foreign investments in Tunis reached 1,310 million dinar ($13 billion), among which 1,163 million dinars are in direct investments. Statistics issued by the Ministry of International Cooperation today, a copy of which was obtained by ArabicNews.com, said that increasing the volume of foreign investment comes within the framework of the government's efforts, headed by President Zein El-Abidin Ben Ali, to develop the basic infrastructure and encourage foreign investments, in addition to starting the privatization program and allowing foreign companies to participate in the funds of the Tunisian corporations.
