Peres refused any European role in ME peace

Israel's minister of regional cooperation, Shimon Peres, said there is no chance for Europe to play the role of the main mediator in the Middle East peace process.
In an interview with the French magazine "Expansion" issued on Wednesday, Peres added that there "is no chance in the peace process for a European political mediation besides the American mediation."
He reiterated the stances of the former government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the current Israeli government to alienate Europe from playing any political role in the Middle East peace process. He called on Europe to work to increase the volume of financial aid provided in support of the peace process.
