Scottish police in Libya to investigate Lockerbie question
Libya, Politics, 10/21/1999

The British police reported on Tuesday that Scottish policemen are in Libya to investigate for the first time into the explosion of an American civilian aircraft in 1988, while two Libyans are awaiting their trials in Holland before a Scottish court under accusations of being involved in this explosion.

Last April Tripoli handed over the Scottish judicial sides Libyan citizens Abdul Baset al-Miqrahi and al-Amin Khaleifa Faheema. The trial of the two Libyans is expected to start next year.

However, the attack against the US Boeing plane resulted in 270 killing when the plane exploded in December 1988 over the Scottish town of Lockerbie.
