Freed Hamas, El-Jihad captives served their full prison terms
Palestine, Politics, 10/20/1999

Mahmoud El-Zahar, a leader of Hamas movement, stated that, "Some of the Palestinian detainees from the movement whom were released by the Israeli authorities spent their full prison sentences; some of them were even spending extra periods."

In a statement to the United Arab Emirates' Itihah newspaper that was published yesterday , El-Zahar said Israel setting free six detainees from Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in framework of the second group of freed Palestinian prisoners was an Israeli trick to evade releasing other detainees from the movement that were supposed to be released.

El-Zahar said the current negotiations now to release the third group of the Palestinian detains would not result the exit of any detainees from Hamas or El-Jihad.
