Chinese defense minister in Israel

Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian and members of the accompanying delegation arrived in Israel on Tuesday in a four-day visit.
Israel Radio said the Chinese minister will meet during his visit with Israeli President Ezer Weizman and with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak. The Chinese minister will visit an Israeli air base and air industries.
The Chinese delegation concluded a four-day official visit to Syria, during which the visiting minister met with Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Tlass, and the army's chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Ali Aslan. He also visited the "Liberated city of al-Quneitra," from which Israel withdrew following the October War in 1973.
