Syrian PNF discusses economic situation

Chaired by the Syrian Vice President Muhammad Zuheir Masharqa, the Progressive National Front's central command on Monday evening held a meeting. The participants in the meeting listened to a comprehensive economic review submitted by Prime Minister Mahmoud al-Zou'bi, Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs Salim Yasin and many others.
The review highlighted measures adopted by the government in different sectors in order to achieve overall economic development and meet the basic needs of citizens.
The PNF general command asserted the importance of promoting the economic sector to be able to achieve national economic objectives.
The participants in the meeting also concentrated on the need for optimal use of resources, keeping public assets, fighting waste and improving the level of governmental performance.
The PNF's command asserted the importance of working to maintain a balance between revenues and expenditures, between imports and exports, between production and consumption, to achieve the required integration between the three public, private and joint sectors which embody the "economic pluralism, a policy ever advocated under the leadership of President al-Assad."
