King Fahd meets with Arafat
Saudi Arabia-Palestine-Malaysia, Politics, 10/19/1999

King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia met on Monday in Riyadh with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

Present at the meeting were Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi ministers of defense and the interior and several Saudi princes and consultants.

On Monday, at dawn, Arafat arrived in Riyadh in a short visit. During his stay Arafat will hold talks with high-ranking Saudi officials dealing with the latest developments concerning Palestinian-Israeli negotiations and Arab and international issues of mutual concern.

On Sunday evening, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad met with Arafat during Arafat's stop in Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysian news agency said that Mahathir bin Mohamad and Arafat discussed during the meeting the Middle East peace process and bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and the Palestinian Authority.

The agency indicated that Arafat was in his way to Jeddah after he had visited Japan and Vietnam.
