Youssoufi at European Parliament
Morocco-European Union, Politics, 10/19/1999

Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi is heading Wednesday for Brussels to chair with the European Commission President Romano Prodi a two-day colloquy on "Morocco-Europe: A common destiny."

The event staged by the Euro-Moroccan Friendship Circle under the patronage of the European Parliament Chairwoman Nicole Fontaine will be attended by several European and Belgian officials and MPs.

The Moroccan side includes the speaker of the house of representatives Abdelouahed Radi, economic adviser to the king Andre Azoulay, cabinet members and other officials, and head of the General Enterprise Confederation CGEM, Abderrahim Lahjouji.

Works, split in two workshops, center on "Morocco as key-factor in Euro-Mediterranean cooperation" and "The Euro-Moroccan economic partnership."

In Brussels, Youssoufi will meet Mrs. Fontaine, Prodi, Chris Patten, chairman of the socialist group in the European parliament, Belgian premier and representatives of the Moroccan community.
