Opposition Sudanese Democratic National Alliance meetings start today in Cairo

Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister Yousef Wali, the secretary general of the ruling National Party, received yesterday Mohammed Ossman El-Merghany, the head of the opposition Sudanese Democratic National Alliance.

Discussions of the developments in Sudan took place during the meeting, which was attended by leaders of the Sudanese National Unionist Party.

On the other hand, the meetings of the Democratic National Alliance's leadership, which includes 13 political parties under the chairmanship of El-Merghany, are starting tonight in Cairo to discuss the peaceful solution for Sudan's problem, topped by the Egyptian- Libyan initiative and the Sudanese government's answer to it.

El-Sadek El-Mahadi, the head of the Sudanese Ummah party, and a personal delegate for John Garang, the head of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army, and other parties' leaders will attend the meeting.
