US reschedules Jordanian debts

Jordan and the US signed an agreement on Sunday in Amman that provides for rescheduling the Jordanian debts owed to the US, estimated at US $101.7 million.
On the Jordanian side the agreement was signed by Minister of Finance Micheal Martu and the US side was represented by the US ambassador in Amman, William Burns.
The process of rescheduling comes in implementation of the fifth Paris Club minutes of meeting which was signed on May 20, 1999 to reschedule a sum of US $788 million of Jordanian debts that are to be repaid to Paris club members in the period between April 1, 1999 and April 30, 1999.
