US secretary of commerce arrives in Riyadh

In an official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of his Saudi counterpart, Usama Jafar Faqih, US Secretary of Commerce William Daley and his accompanying delegation comprising a number of officials in the US administration and businessmen reached Riyadh.

Daley held important talks that tackled boosting commercial relations between the two countries, expanding their range and working on establishing more joint investment projects.

The volume of commercial exchange between the two countries reached 58.363 billion riyals in 1997, which include 265 joint projects.

Furthermore, the visit of US secretary of commerce acquires a Gulf dimension as he is scheduled to head to Abu Dhabi to participate in the US- Gulf business dialogue, which will be preceded by a coordination meeting for the Gulf Cooperation Council. The US - Gulf dialogue is to start tomorrow.
