Yemeni foreign minister: Comprehensive Arab summit during the first quarter of next year

Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdul Qader Bajamal stated that he expects a comprehensive Arab summit during the first quarter of the coming year.

In a press statement following his return from New York, he said he discussed with his counterparts in the Gulf Cooperation Council states and in the north subjects concerning Arab solidarity on the margins of the United Nations meetings.

Bajamal confirmed that all the ministers have reached a joint vision about the importance of establishing a basic formula for organizing a periodic Arab summit.

In addition, he said his country will resume its communications with the United Arab Emirates and will move with other countries, especially with Egypt, to create the proper atmosphere for convening an Arab summit.

He denied that he met on the margins of the United Nations meetings with any member of the Israeli delegation member, adding, "Yemen will not change its stance or abandons its firm policy towards the Middle East peace process."
