Swedish official meets Moroccan cabinet members to boost cooperation

Visiting Swedish Secretary of State of Industry, Employment and Telecommunications Lars Rekke met in Rabat Thursday with several Cabinet members and heads of telecom institutions.
Means to enhance bilateral cooperation and contacts between Moroccan and Swedish operators and researchers in the field of advanced information technologies were examined with the government's general affairs minister, Ahmed Lahlimi.
Minister of Handicraft Hassan Maouni, also standing for the minister of trade and industry, and Rekke insisted on the need to activate the committee set up by the General Enterprise Confederation of Morocco and the Federation of Swedish Enterprises to promote partnership between the two countries' private sectors.
Environment Minister Ahmed Iraqui expounded his sector's policy, saying Sweden, which boasts remarkable results in environment protection, now a development priority, can help with data and experiment exchanges on ecology matters.
With the directors of Barid Al Maghrib and the National Telecom Regulation Agency, the Swedish minister probed ways to improve the flow of mail, parcel post and philately as well as means to widen the scope of cooperation to training and technology transfer.
