Israeli attacks continue against south Lebanon
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 10/15/1999

The Lebanese resistance has retaliated for Israeli attacks against Lebanese civilians in the areas and villages of the occupied part of south Lebanon, with a series of attacks against the Israeli occupation positions and its South Lebanon Army militia allies. Direct hits were achieved.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces bombarded several areas in south Lebanon and targeted the residential suburbs in al-Lweizeh town and intensified its aggressions against al-Tuffah district and the western Bekaa.

Israeli warplanes raided Zibqin town while Israeli troops besieged Hasbaya town and denied any plan to carry out a withdrawal from the area.

Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss said that Lebanon did not receive any official information from sides concerned on what has been alleged by Israel of its intent to withdraw from the occupied part of the south and the western Bekaa.

Replying to a question on reports speaking of a coming Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Hasbaya district, al-Hoss said that if Israel "carried such a withdrawal, it will be its own business. But Lebanon is still committed to UN resolution 425 and the need to be implemented unconditionally by Israel." He added that the Lebanese Foreign Ministry has not received anything about the Israeli withdrawal.

He said, "What had been applied on Jezzine following the Israeli withdrawal will be also applied on Hasbaya if such a withdrawal is made."
