Saudi Arabia, Tunisia for a just Middle East peace
Tunisia-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 10/15/1999
Tunisian President Zein al-Abidin Ben Ali and Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz on Wednesday asserted their adherence to the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region, based on restoring the right of the Palestinians to the establishment of a just peace built on the right of the Palestinians to establish an independent state of their own with Jerusalem as a capital and the restoration of the occupied Arab lands.
This affirmation was made during talks between the Tunisian president and Crown Prince Abdullah, who arrived in Tuesday on a two-day official visit. Talks between the two sides dealt with bilateral relations and the progress it attained in the service of common interests.
In his talks with Crown Prince Abdullah, President Ben Ali expressed his country's interest in promoting relations with Saudi Arabia. Talks also covered the situation in the Arab Maghreb.
The two sides also stressed the importance of "purifying the Arab atmospheres and to invest Arab potentials in accelerating economic investment and common Arab action."
