Jordanian government asks for further investigation into attack against parliamentarians
Jordan, Politics, 10/14/1999

The Jordanian government has considered the message addressed by the Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy to the Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib concerning the aggression against the Jordanian parliamentary delegation by Israeli settlers as not satisfactory.

A Jordanian parliamentary delegation was attacked on Saturday by Israeli settlers during a visit to the occupied city of Hebron on Saturday.

The Jordanian government has asked the Israeli government to make an investigation into the aggression and to brief Jordan on its results.

The Jordanian daily al-Rai quoted Jordan's deputy premier and information minister, as well as acting Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Majali as asserting in a statement he made to it and published on Wednesday that he on Tuesday replied to the message sent by the Israeli foreign minister and considered it as "not enough."

Al-Majali reiterated the request raised by Jordan to the Israeli government to make investigations into this incident and to brief the Jordanian government about the details of such investigations.
