Jordanian writer dismissed from his union over visiting Israel
Jordan, Politics, 10/14/1999
The administrative board of the Jordanian Writers Union has decided to dismiss writer Issa al-Sheibi from the union's membership for visiting Israel together with other three Jordanian journalists.
In its decision, the union said it has taken the decision because al-Sheibi fulfilled the invitation from "Zionist establishments and his visits to these establishments and for having a visa from the Israeli embassy in Amman."
The Jordanian Journalists Union will address the case of the other three journalists, Sultan Hattab, Jihad al-Moumani and Abdullah Hasanat.
