Egyptian - British military talks
Egypt-UK, Politics, 10/13/1999

Marshal Hussein Tantawy, the general leader of Egypt's armed forces and Egyptian minister of defense and military production, received British Parliamentary Under Secretary for Defense Peter Kilfoyle, who is currently visiting Cairo, yesterday.

In the attendance of the British ambassador, the military attache in Cairo and a number of leaders in the armed forces, means of boosting cooperation between Egypt and Britain, especially in military fields, were discussed during the meeting.

The British official arrived in Cairo on Monday on a several-day visit to Egypt, during which he examines the British force which participates in the Bright Star joint training exercises. 11 Arab and European countries are participating in the exercises.

The minister will pay visits to Israel and Jordan soon.
