UN specifies international code for Palestine on the Internet

The United Nations informed the Palestinian government that it has specified an international code carrying Palestine's name on the Internet. Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nabil Shaath said the code "PS," in reference to the state of Palestine, with the international phone code form important symbols for sovereignty and independence. The Palestinian Authority refused last year a code carrying "WG," i.e the West Bank and Gaza.
Ghassam El-Kadah, the general supervisor of the governmental computers center in the Palestinian government stated that re-registering all the Palestinian corporations under the new code will take place during the coming weeks.
