European Union is open to useful dialogue with Sudan
Sudan-European Union, Politics, 10/12/1999

The Sudanese government on Sunday received an official decision by the European Union that calls for opening "a page of useful and fruitful dialogue with Khartoum."

This was expressed in the meeting held by Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael on Sunday with the Italian ambassador in Khartoum, who conveyed the text of the EU decision and the desire of the EU to renew dialogue with Sudan.

During his meeting, Ismael also received a message from his Italian counterpart, Lamberto Dini, dealing with developing bilateral relations in all fields between Khartoum and Rome and means of boosting and backing them.

This message followed the meeting between the two countries' foreign ministers held in New York recently, during which normalization of relations between the two countries in all fields was reviewed.
