Two Indonesian ministers visit Iraq today
Iraq-Indonesia, Economics, 10/12/1999

Indonesia's minister of energy and minerals and of trade and industries will start a four-day visit to Iraq today, during which they will hold trade and oil talks with Iraqi officials.

The consultant at the Indonesian embassy said the two ministers, who will preside over an Indonesian industrial delegation, will sign during this visit oil and trade agreements reached with Iraq in the framework of the oil-for-food agreement with the UN.

The consultant said the two ministers will also carry a message from Indonesian President Youssef Habibi on strengthening relations between the two countries in the areas of economy and oil.

The Indonesian consultant also said that President Habibi received on Sunday a message conveyed by Iraqi Oil Minister Amer Muhammad Rashid, in which the Iraqi government asked backing for its nomination to the post of OPEC's general secretariat post, as Indonesia is one of OPEC's member states.
