Russian envoy visits Egypt today

The special envoy for the Russian foreign minister, Vladimir Polyakuv, is due to start today a two-day official visit to Egypt, carrying a message to Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa from his Russian counterpart, Igor Ivanov.
The Russian ambassador to Egypt, Vladimir Joseph, said the message pertains to current conditions concerning the Chechnyan crisis and the Caucasus region in general. He said the Russian envoy will delivere a similar message from the Russian foreign minister to Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid on the same topic.
The Russian ambassador added that the special Russian envoy will head following his visit to Cairo to Amman to hand over a similar message to Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib.
