US secretary of commerce concludes visit to Israel

US Secretary of Commerce William Daley said the peace process' refreshment in Middle East created a more conducive atmosphere for trade and investment.
He said at an official dinner he attended yesterday in Jerusalem that US President Bill Clinton "firmly thinks that it is time that the foreign companies must have a presence or role in the area."
Daley arrived in Israel heading a delegation of senior US managers and businessmen coming from Jordan on a tour in Middle East to visit the West Bank, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Diplomatic sources said the US official discussed with Israeli officials means of increasing commercial exchange between the two countries and the aid presented by the USA to Israel, as well as the peace process in Middle East.
