Iranian President confers with Hizbullah chief

Iranian President Muhammad Khatami on Sunday in Tehran received the secretary general of the Hizbullah party in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah, and members of the party's central council. Talks dealt with developments in the region and Lebanon.
The Iranian president underlined the importance of maintaining the unity of the Islamic word in confrontation of the "Zionist entity." He continued: "The liberation of holy Jerusalem is our common objective, and we will not permit the enemies to plant seeds of division among us."
The Iranian president also stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation and reconciliation among Lebanese resistance groups and the importance of its cooperation with the Lebanese government.
