Hawatemah praises US decision to lift his group's name from terrorism list

The secretary general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Nayef Hawatemah, has praised the decision taken by the US administration to remove the name of his front from its list of terrorist organizations.

In an interview with Israel Radio on Sunday, Hawatemah added that this decision by the US is a "correction" of a mistake made by the US in 1996 because of pressur from circles in the Palestinian government due to the Democratic Front's opposition, at that time, to the Oslo agreement.

Hawatemah added that this US decision has several political implications. He expressed his conviction that this US decision will have a link to the process of negotiations with Israel.
