US to open commercial bureau in Jordan
Jordan-USA, Politics, 10/9/1999

US Secretary of Commerce William Daley arrived today in the Jordanian capital and opened a permanent commercial bureau in the attendance of high-ranking officials.

Jordanian sources told ArabicNews.com that Daley will meet with his Jordanian counterpart to discuss increasing commercial exchange between the two countries and revitalize relations in all economic and commercial aspects.

The sources added, "The Jordanian official will inform the US official on the status of development regarding peace in the Middle East and Syria's stance regarding resuming the peace process on the Israeli - Syrian track," adding that Jordan supports the Syrian stance toward resuming the negotiations and that it believes that, "If Israel continued in the same direction, signing an Israeli - Syrian peace agreement will take place in a few months."
