Abed Rabbo warns the world and Israel of the destruction of the peace process
Palestine, Politics, 10/9/1999

Palestinian Minister of Culture Yasser Abed Rabbo, the head of the Palestinian team in the final status negotiations with Israel threatened yesterday to boycott the negotiations in case of the continuation of Israeli settlement activities in the occupied lands.

Abed Rabbo said it is not possible to hold the final status negotiations with continuing settlement activities, saying, "We cannot sit on the negotiations table while the other side decide the lands' destiny through continuos violations."

Abed Rabbo's statements are considered the most severe Palestinian warnings until now for Israeli Premier Ehud Barak to reduce the settlement activities so that the peace processes does not fall down.

In a press conference, Abed Rabbo said, "This is a message to the whole world and to the Israeli government stating that continuing this policy distracts the peace process."
