Tolerance colloquium winds up
Regional, Culture, 10/8/1999

A seminar on tolerance will be included in the academic curriculum of the Moroccan Al Akhawayn University as of next year, said the university president Rachid Belmokhtar closing the week-long colloquium organized with the "Three Cultures Foundation" of Sevilla, Spain.

In follow-up, the university will start preparations for the 2nd colloquium, launch a forum to carry on dialogue on the internet, promote dialogue beyond the Mediterranean and set up a think-tank to ward off creeping intolerance.

Foreign scholars attending called for the setting up of a core group, the "Ifrane Group For Tolerance," to uphold values of peace and dialogue in a world where globalization should not mean the standardization of values and human beings.
