Prince Moulay Rachid opens session on bio-ethics

Prince Moulay Rachid opened in Rabat on Thursday the 6th session of the UNESCO Bio-ethics International Committee held in collaboration with the Moroccan commission for education, culture and science under royal patronage.

Higher education, training and research minister Najib Zerouali said humankind is at a turning point because of scientific advances that makes everything possible. If dignity and human integrity are to be preserved, the inter-governmental committee meeting here for the first time should come up with ways and procedures to enforce principles enunciated by the International Bio-ethics Committee, he added.

The event attended by experts from all over the world will be followed Oct 11-12 by the meeting of the inter-governmental committee and by a joint meeting on Oct 13.
