Iranian foreign minister confers with Hizbullah chief
Lebanon-Iran, Politics, 10/7/1999

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi met on Wednesday in Tehran with the secretary General of the Hizbullah party in Lebanon, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, currently visiting Lebanon to take part in a symposium to highlight the Islamic revolution in Iran.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in the region and Lebanon.

Nasrallah stressed that the Lebanese resistance continued "resistance acts" against the Israeli occupations forces and praised Iran's backing for the Lebanese resistance to rebuild areas devastated as a result of the war in Lebanon.

Kharazi stressed the importance of strengthening the struggle mounted by the Lebanese resistance and commended the full backing by the Lebanese government and people for the Lebanese resistance against the Israeli occupation.

He reiterated Iran's steadfastness and the struggle of the Lebanese people in backing the Lebanese resistance against the Israeli occupation.
