Korean economic delegations visit Algeria
Algeria-South Korea, Economics, 10/6/1999

South Korean Minister of State for Trade Han Tok-su is due to arrive in Algeria in mid-October, heading a large delegation that includes officials in his ministry and Korean businessmen.

It is considered the first visit paid by a member of the South Korean government since the resumption of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Seoul in 1994.

A press statement issued by the South Korean embassy in Cairo said the delegation will discuss with Algerian officials means of establishing a new partnership, adding that they will sign an agreement regarding mutual protection for investments between the two countries.

This visit comes after convening the first South Korean- Algerian businessmen's council in Seoul in September, attended by more than 60 businessmen and the heads of corporations from the two countries.
