Lebanese resistance retaliates for Israeli attacks

Lebanese resistance forces on Tuesday attacked, using rockets and machine guns, the Israeli military position in the al-Teibah area inside the occupied part of south Lebanon.

In a statement the Lebanese resistance said a resistance group hit the position and were able to destroy part of its fortifications. Earlier, two Lebanese resistance groups attacked the joint South Lebanon Army militia and Israeli position of al-Dibshe and Sweida inside the occupied zone. Lebanese resistance sources said the two positions were directly hit by their attacks.

Meanwhile, Israeli heavy artillery shelled the hills of the al-Tuffah district and several towns in the area, as well as the middle and western sectors of the occupied part of south Lebanon.

As a result of the Israeli shelling, the electricity network in the town of Habboush was damaged amidst the intensive sorties carried out by the Israeli spy and war planes over the entirety of southern Lebanon, a statement by the Lebanese resistance said.

Further reports from south Lebanon said four Israeli warplanes flew over the districts of the west Bekaa and Yater and fired four air-to-surface missiles. Israeli helicopters opened heavy machine guns fire against valleys in the district of the western Bekaa.

Meanwhile, the Israeli heavy artillery renewed its attacks against areas in south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery stationed in al-Zaffata bombarded the Lebanese army barracks in al-Nabatiyah. The sources indicated that scores of explosive charges were dropped on al-Nabatieh district and that fires broke out in the fields and orchards.

The Israeli heavy artillery also shelled the towns of Qabriha, Farroun, al-Ghanoureyah, Majdal Soloum and Khurbet Soloum in the central sector. The Israeli artillery also bombarded the towns of Zibqin, Jabal al-Botoum, Eita al-Jabal and al-Qeseyah valley.

The Israeli bombardment was accompanied by heavy machine gun fire that targeted the roads which link al-Tuffah district with the occupied part of south Lebanon. The Israeli warplanes carried out mock and provocative raids at low altitudes over areas in the south and the western Bekaa.
