Yemen refutes Israel report
Yemen-Israel, Politics, 10/6/1999
The Yemeni government has denied a report by the Israeli daily Maariv that Yemen is intending to normalize its relations with Israel.
A senior governmental source in Sanaa described in a statement to Monte Carlo radio on Tuesday evening the news reported by the Israeli daily Maariv as "fabricated, and baseless in spirit and content."
The Yemeni source said Israel has used to launch lies of this kind through its papers in order to undermine the Yemeni stances concerning the peace process.
The Yemeni source asserted that the Yemeni government has no intention or any desire to have any ties with Israel, whatsoever the conditions and nature of this contact, before Israel complies with the requirements for a just and comprehensive peace and its complete withdrawal from the Arab territories occupied in 1967.
