Algeria pays back $1 million of its share in Arab League's budget

Algeria paid yesterday a $1 million to complete the rest of its share in the Arab League's budget for 1999 ,which reaches $1.6 million, 5.8% of the AL's budget which is $27.6 million.
Mostafa Sherif, Algeria's permanent delegate at the Arab League and its ambassador in Cairo said after his meeting yesterday with AL Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid that Algeria commits to paying its full share in the AL's budget annually, adhering to boosting the Arab states' symbol and the house of Arabs.
The Arab League suffers in the last quarter of every year a financial crisis that makes the general trusteeship unable to pay its financial commitments, especially paying its employees' salaries inside and its missions abroad, as financial dues exist for some countries that exceed $35 million, among which are $95 million are not a matter of objection by the countries involved, while $40 million are.
