Economic trade to increase significantly between Syria and UK

The British ambassador in Damascus, Basil Eastwood, has expressed his hope of developing economic cooperation and trade exchange between Syria and Britain in the service of the two countries' interests.

In a press conference he held on Tuesday in Damascus, the British ambassador indicated the vast investment opportunities Syria provides, especially in the areas of tourism and agriculture.

He stressed the desire of the economic institutions and the British businessmen to promote their trade and economic activities as investments in Syrian establishments.

The British ambassador said that the current month and the next one will witness a breakthrough in trade and economic cooperation and the exchange of visits between economic establishments concerned in Britain and Syria.
