Jordan asks Israel to close Dimona reactor
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 10/4/1999
Jordan asked Israel yesterday to close the Dimona nuclear reactor and open its nuclear establishments to international inspection.
The Jordanian newspaper Hereit yesterday quoted official sources as saying that the probabilities of a radiation leak from the Dimona reactor has become more dangerous to the environment, especially after the last radiation leak to Jordan.
It added that, "A just and comprehensive peace could last if it is built on abandoning the 'power policy' and the Israeli nuclear arsenal and subjecting it to the international inspection."
