Arab stands in Frankfurt book fair larger this year
Regional, Culture, 10/2/1999
The Arab stands at the Frankfurt International Book Fair will be larger this year, a statement by the fair's management said on Friday.
The statement said this larger participation was the fruit of closer coordination between the fair's management and the Arab Publishers Union, which groups 283 publishing houses from 15 Arab states.
Arab stands will stretch this year over 260 square meters against 130 square meters last year.
Publishing houses from Kuwait, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Oman, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Jordan are taking part in the fair.
The largest number of Arab books comes from Lebanon, which produced this year 50 million copies of 10,000 books, including 3,000 new subjects.
