Disney refuses allow Abu Dhabi TV correspondent to cover exhibition
United Arab Emirates-USA, Politics, 10/2/1999

US Walt Disney Company refused to allow a correspondent from Abu Dhabi television to enter to cover the Millennium Village exhibition in Orlando, Florida, which has been the subject of controversy for the representation of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The correspondent said officials in the company procrastinated at the beginning, then informed her that they would not allow her to cover the fair.

Emirati sources related this to the UAE position in opposition to the company's partiality in the which it sough to have Jerusalem portrayed as a historical capital for Israel. The Emirates had taken a leading and strong position in support of a united Arab action on this issue.
