Egyptian Mufti demands boycott of Walt Disney company
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 9/30/1999

Egypt's Mufti, Nasr Farid Wasel, asserted the necessity of boycotting the US Walt Disney Company and a stop to displaying its products in the media bodies in the Arab and Islamic countries so that mistakes regarding Jerusalem and Arab causes are not repeated with other international corporations and companies.

Egypt's Mufti said Israel's behavior toward Jerusalem forces on Arabs and Moslems to react collectively and rapidly to move on the local and international levels to confront the Israeli allegations toward the holy city.

An Israeli exhibit in an exhibition to open soon at Epcot Center was reportedly to depict Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, but an agreement was reached that halted earlier calls for boycotts.

He added that the official bodies in the Arab and Islamic countries are exerting efforts to halt the continuous Judaization of the Islamic and Christian establishments in Jerusalem under the Israeli occupation.
